How to get rid of

chipmunks

Cute…but they often become a pest.

  • If you see 1, you likely have 100 more, because they all look the same, so their need for food for their baby chipmunk is huge
  • their entrances/exit holes in the yard can bring lawsuits and huge medical bills after friends stumble and fall.
  • they eat all your bird seed, attract snakes, fleas, and chew telephone and electrical wires and more.

This is how you deal with the chipmunk colony plague…and it can seem like a plague because they just keep coming into the trap.

LIVE TRAP THEM:

Yes, these traps will catch them, but then you must relocate them. Because they are territorial, they will be tormented by the chipmunks at the new site and they will soon die at the new place.

USE KILL TRAPS:

After they are dead, the chipmunks must be disposed of…in a plastic bag and into the trash, or bury them.

GAS THEM…SMOKE BOMBS..FILL HOLES WITH WATER

All of these do NOT do the job because when a chipmunk senses danger, and they will seal that part of the tunnel quickly.

HIRE A PROFESSIONAL:

If you can’t handle the live relocation or dead chipmunk bodies, let a professional pest control specialist or trapper do it for you.
